Roscoe Smith latest to leave UConn

First Alex Oriakhi transferred. Then Jeremy Lamb and Andre Drummond bolted for the NBA. Now Roscoe Smith is also leaving UConn.

Smith's father told CBSSports.com on Saturday morning that his son, a sophomore forward for the Huskies, will leave the program and has received his release.

The 6-foot-8 Smith averaged 4.4 points in 18.7 minutes this past season, which was down from 6.3 points and 25.4 minutes his freshman campaign.

UConn could be painfully thin this season, one in which they likely won't be allowed to participate in the NCAA tournament, anyway.

The Huskies return guards Shabazz Napier and Ryan Boatright, but don't have much up front. Michael Bradley also transferred, but UConn still has Tyler Olander and Enosch Wolf -- who barely played last season.

UConn is also expected to have Niels Giffey, DeAndre Daniels, signee Omar Calhoun and one-year Holy Cross transfer R.J. Evans.
