A lot of things are changing with the Penn State football program these days, and if you tried to read between the lines of what coach Bill O'Brien said during Big Ten media days on Thursday, it's possible the classic Penn State uniforms could be one of those changes.

When asked about the possibility of new uniforms at Penn State, O'Brien did not confirm they'd be coming, but he definitely didn't deny the possibility.

There's a lot of discussions going on with our football team right now," said O'Brien. "We've got a group of young men there, like I said, that are sticking together. And there's changes that have taken place at Penn State over the last six months that are reflected already.

"The new era of Penn State football. And some of the changes people will have to wait and see until September, on September 1."

Now, obviously, saying people will have to wait until September to see some of the changes is not the same thing as "we're getting new uniforms." That being said, the fact O'Brien didn't deny the possibility outright is big news in and of itself.

Penn State's uniforms, the simple blue and white design, have been as synonymous with the program as Joe Paterno had always been. Changing them now, in light of what has happened in State College, would be a visible indication that this program is ready to move on and begin an entirely new era.
