Bryson DeChambeau went to Europe to get some experience before playing a few PGA Tour events this year and the Masters in April. He finished T54 at the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, 67th at the Qatar Masters and then T18 at the Dubai Desert Classic.

He said on Instagram, "Couldn't have had a more incredible experience in the Middle East. Except scaring the crap out of myself by going up the Burj Khalifa I look forward to coming back for years to come!" Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world (2,722 feet).

Many profiles have been written about DeChambeau since he won the NCAA/U.S. Amateur double last summer. The most telling thing about his future, however, might have come from a single tweet from Edoardo Molinari, who played with DeChambeau on the European Tour.

I'm not sure that DeChambeau is going to change the sport, but his eccentricities foreshadow a fascinating career. The problem for him? He's old.

"He's only 22," you might be saying.

Well yeah, but so is Jordan Spieth.
