As Matt previously wrote, the Orioles, those plucky defiers of odds, must defy even more odds now that their leadoff hitter Nick Markakis is done for the balance of the regular season.

It's a serious loss, of course. Not only does Markakis boast a nifty .834 OPS for the year, but he's also been even better than that in the second half. So in honor of this fallen Oriole, we present this image from the recent past.
