According to SI's Tom Verducci, the name of Tigers shortstop Jhonny Peralta appears in the records of the Biogenesis clinic that's being investigated by MLB as a possible supplier of PEDs. Peralta's name is not mentioned in connection with any specific banned substance.

As Verducci notes, Peralta's attorney, Barry Boss, released a statement from his client: "I have never used performance-enhancing drugs. Period. Anybody who says otherwise is lying."

The 30-year-old Peralta is coming off a season in which he batted .239/.305/.384 and tallied 13 homers and 32 doubles in 150 games played.

Add Peralta to the growing list of players linked in some form or fashion to Biogenesis clinician Anthony Bosch. Previous names include Alex Rodriguez, Gio Gonzalez, Nelson Cruz, Melky Cabrera, Francisco Cervelli, Danny Valencia, Jesus Montero, Ryan Braun, Yasmani Grandal and Cesar Carrillo.
