| Sanchez might be back in 10 days: Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen told reporters Sunday that he isn't ruling out first baseman Gaby Sanchez, who was demoted to the minors Saturday, returning when he is eligible in 10 days. However, Guillen added he isn't putting a timetable on Sanchez's time at Triple-A New Orleans. “We have been talking about this for a little while,” Guillen said. “I think Gaby got to the point where he needs to relax a little bit. He tried to help us so much, it put him in a very tough situation. I think he was trying too hard. He was rushing. He was trying to come out of the slump in one at-bat. I think it was better for him and for us. Hopefully he gets his stuff together and gets back here. I talked to him [Saturday] night and said, ‘We need you here. This ball club is built with you in the lineup every day.’ I’ll be waiting for him.” (Updated 05/20/2012) |

| Logan Morrison is likely to see the bulk of starts at first base while Sanchez is in the minors. The Marlins are hoping this demotion will serve as a wake-up call and Sanchez's return is obviously in his hands. If he gets hot at New Orleans, then a quick return is likely. But now it's a wait-and-see process. Sanchez might be worth stashing in deep Fantasy formats while he's toiling in the minors. (Updated 05/20/2012). |
