WATCH: Isaiah Thomas takes a swing at Dennis Schroder's head
The Celtics guard takes a swing at the Hawks' backup point guard. Is a suspension next?
Things have started to get chippy between the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics in their first-round series. There were multiple hard fouls and a lot of jawing in Game 3 in Boston. Most notably, Dennis Schröder and Isaiah Thomas wound up getting into it. It wasn't obvious -- at first -- what set off the ruckus, but on replay, it turns out that, well ...
Isaiah Thomas kind of punched Schröder in the head.
That's a closed fist, and even if he connected on the side of his head, that's almost always punishable by a suspension. We'll see what the league decides, and there's no way to know if Schröder instigated it, but the overall appearance of that play is not good for Thomas, which is not good for the Celtics.
