Bills' Rex Ryan: 'We won't have LeBron at quarterback'
Sorry Matt Cassel, EJ Manuel, and Tyrod Taylor, but Rex Ryan isn't going to be comparing you to LeBron James anytime soon.

Rex Ryan stated the obvious, but he did so in the most Rex Ryan kind of way. When asked about his current quarterback situation, Ryan made it pretty clear to reporters on Wednesday that his new team, the Buffalo Bills, does not have its version of LeBron James -- who is currently in the middle of a historic NBA Finals performance -- at quarterback.
"It's safe to say we won't have LeBron at quarterback," Ryan said, though it's worth noting that his LeBron reference was prompted by a reporter who asked him which quarterback was going to be the Bills' LeBron for the 2015 season. "We may have LeBron at defensive tackle and at defensive end but we don't have him at quarterback."
As of now, the Bills' quarterback battle is between EJ Manuel and Matt Cassel -- the favorites -- and Tyrod Taylor, who probably has the worst chance at landing the starting job. But when the reporter asked Ryan about the quarterback situation, he only inquired about Manuel and Cassel.
There was no mention of Taylor in the initial question and Ryan made sure to point out that Taylor could still snag the job over the favorites.
"Wisdom tells me to let it play it out, we'll see what happens through the end," Ryan said. "So you just eliminated Tyrod Taylor, that's not fair to do. So I think wisdom says let this thing play out and it will all work out in the end."
Not many people are going to disagree with what Ryan said regarding the current state of the Bills' quarterback battle. Regardless of who wins the job, the Bills are most likely going to be a team that depends on the running game -- having LeSean McCoy helps -- and a dominant defense.
Luckily for Ryan, his defense should be able to carry the load in 2015. Last season, the Bills finished No. 4 in total defense and in points allowed. Not to mention Ryan has a history of leading top defenses.
And if that formula sounds familiar, well, it should. After all, this is a Rex Ryan coached team we're talking about.
