Carson Wentz might just be the top quarterback in this year's draft class. At this point in the process, it's become clear that either Wentz or Jared Goff will be first quarterback taken off the board at the end of next month. With the combine long gone, pro days and private workouts are all that remain for the prospects to impress prospective teams.

Last Friday, Goff aced his pro day at Cal. On Thursday, it was Wentz's turn.

Given his stature, it should come as no surprise to hear that all 32 teams were credentialed to attend Wentz's pro day at North Dakota State. It should, however, absolutely come as a surprise to hear that only 18 of those teams showed up -- including just one (1!) head coach, the Browns' Hue Jackson. So, why did 14 teams blow off Wentz?

The answer is snow, according to NFL.com's Gil Brandt, who reported on the 14 missing teams.

Not only did the Browns attend, but they also brought water with them. Like they did at Goff's pro day, the Browns made sure Wentz went through a portion of his throwing session with a wet football.

It's becoming a tradition.

And strangely, Wentz -- not Goff -- struggled with the wet ball, almost as if the one-inch difference in their hand size (per combine measurements) doesn't really matter. Wentz's first wet-ball pass skipped across the turf. According to Sports Illustrated's Chris Burke, Wentz went 2-for-5 on those passes, though one incompletion occurred due to a drop.

Perhaps after seeing Wentz struggle in wet conditions, Jackson gave the Browns the go-ahead to sign RG3. I'm not being entirely serious, but the signing did happen after Wentz's workout and the Browns have been vocal about their concern for quarterbacks who can't handle harsh weather conditions.

Just saying.

Carson Wentz's pro day wasn't as crowded as expected. (USATSI)
