An already thin backfield for the Jaguars got thinner on Tuesday when Jacksonville released running back Justin Forsett in advance of free agency starting at 4 p.m. ET.
Forsett was the backup to the backup of Maurice Jones-Drew, who's heading to free agency. Jordan Todman is currently atop the chart.
Losing Forsett isn't a huge blow, though. The diminutive running back had just six carries for 31 yards in nine games last year. That's a nice average but it's one of the instances where counting stats are more important.
Forsett could get a look somewhere as a change-of-pace back, but won't draw a ton of interest in free agency.
