  • Flyers' Michal Neuvirth: Makes 25 saves in loss

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/26/17) Neuvirth made 25 saves in the Flyers 4-2 loss to the Penguins in the Stadium Series game.

His record dropped to 10-9-1 with the loss. Neuvirth has been porous of late, allowing four or more goals in three of his last four starts. But his performances have been queasy for much of the season. Neuvirth entered Saturday night with a save percentage well below hockey's Mendoza line (.900).

Flyers' Michal Neuvirth: Penciled in for Stadium Series showdown

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/23/17) Neuvirth was named the starting backstop for Saturday's Stadium Series clash with the Penguins at Heinz Field, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

A subject of trade rumors along with complementary backstop Steve Mason, Neuvirth will head between the pipes for the sixth consecutive outing. If the 28-year-old decides that he wants out of Philly, impressing in the outdoor game versus the league's top offense would be ideal; as it stands now, he likely isn't inspiring much confidence in his 2.84 GAA and .888 save percentage through 23 contests.

Flyers' Michal Neuvirth: Allows four tallies in loss to Caps

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/23/17) Neuvirth saved just 25 of 29 shots during Wednesday's loss to Washington.

Facing Washington's juggernaut offense is never a friendly fantasy situation, and relying on Neuvirth was ill-advised Wednesday. He has grabbed a stranglehold of the Philly crease by allowing two goals or fewer in seven of his previous eight outings, but his .911 save percentage during the stretch speaks more to the Flyers limiting opponents than Neuvirth's play. Expect Steve Mason to receive another look sooner than later, and neither goalie should be considered a reliable fantasy option at this stage of the game.

Flyers' Michal Neuvirth: Defending goal Wednesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/22/17) Neuvirth will tend the twine for Wednesday night's showdown with the Capitals, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

With one disastrous outing against the Oilers aside, Neuvirth's play has been solid lately, though his defense has definitely played a role in that -- the Czech goalie has allowed two goals or fewer while facing 24 shots or fewer in his last three outings, not including the Edmonton game. The Capitals rank 17th in the NHL with 29.8 shots per game, but they're still no strangers to scoring as they currently rank second in the league with 3.34 goals per game. Neuvirth will likely need his slumping offense to step up if he wants to get the victory Wednesday.

Flyers' Michal Neuvirth: Gets job done against Vancouver

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/20/17) Neuvirth made 18 saves on 20 shots in Sunday's win over Vancouver.

It wasn't a busy night for Neuvirth, but he made the necessary saves to pick up his first win in three appearances. The 28-year-old is sporting a lackluster .890 save percentage, but his 10-7-1 is decent and he's shown the ability to steal games. Neuvirth hasn't been a game-changer this season, but he's played well enough to be of value in some formats.
