What to know about each team:

Arizona

The Wildcats pulled away from North Dakota, and now we see what Saint Mary’s can do. That team has all experience. Arizona has size, shooting, athleticism. It’s a very close 2-7 matchup. Sean Miller’s team will try to get this one in the ‘80s. The Gaels want this in the high-50s. Very unpredictable.

Saint Mary’s

A sexy pick to be upset by No. 10 VCU, the Gaels of Saint Mary’s put to rest any doubt which team had more talent. SMC controlled the Rams for much of the game and held VCU to just 15 percent from the three-point line. Star center Jock Landale finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds and put on a clinic in the post. But he’ll have a much tough challenge in the second round against Arizona’s 7-footer Lauri Marrkkanen and big man Dusan Ristic. Landale will need to have an equally impressive outing for the Gaels to stand a chance on Saturday. It will be a dramatic step up in competition from round one to round two, though.
