CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) Armon Fletcher scored 14 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 17 seconds left, and Southern Illinois secured the No. 4 seed in next week's Missouri Valley Conference tournament with a 72-70 win over Loyola-Chicago on Saturday night.
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) Donte Thomas scored 22 points to match his career high and grabbed 12 rebounds as Bradley completed its regular season with an 82-74 win over Drake and clinched the No. 6 seed into the Missouri Valley Conference tournament Saturday afternoon.
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) MiKyle McIntosh scored 15 points, Paris Lee and Keyshawn Evans scored 14 apiece and Illinois State won a share of the Missouri Valley Conference title for the first time in 19 years with a 63-42 win over Northern Iowa on Saturday.
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) Jaylon Brown scored 24 points, including the game-winning free throws in the final second, and Evansville closed out the regular season with a 65-63 win over Indiana State on Saturday.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) Landry Shamet scored a career-best 23 points as No. 25 Wichita State clinched at least a share of the Missouri Valley Conference title for a fourth straight season with an 86-67 victory over Missouri State on Saturday.
With a win Saturday at Missouri State, No. 25 Wichita State will become the first Missouri Valley Conference squad to wrap up four MVC regular-season titles in a row since Southern Illinois was ruling the roost from 2002-05.
Duke is at Miami and Kansas faces a let-down situation on Saturday.
The difficult schedule power conference teams play should not be dismissed
The No. 7 Wildcats play host to the No. 9 Bruins Saturday
It would be a shame if Wichita State is penalized for things out of its control
