Dodgers' Nick Tepesch: Designated for assignment

Tepesch was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Saturday.

The Dodgers were forced to turn to Tepesch for a spot start Friday and the results were about what one would expect, with Tepesch allowing five runs on seven hits in four innings. Tepesch has gone 9-18 with a 4.68 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in parts of three major league seasons, but he has fared well with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate this year and the team is probably hoping to keep him around as organizational depth.
