Malkin scored a power-play goal -- the game-winner, as it turned out -- and contributed an assist in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Sabres.
Something resembling the Geno of old has emerged here, as the 29-year-old has tallied points in seven of the last eight games. It would still be nice to see him shoot a little more, as he's a little behind the pace on that front, but Malkin's a good bet to once again finish among the top NHLers in terms of points per game. Of course, the subtext to that is that the Russian pivot's only played even 70 games one time in the last six seasons.
