Horschel, Johnson sign with PXG which sells clubs for $5,000 a set
You might not have heard of PXG, and you likely won't be able to afford their clubs. Billy Horschel, Chris Kirk and Zach Johnson are going to get a bunch for free though.

Your first question in reading this post is probably, "what is PXG?" It's a valid one.
This week is unofficially national signing week for golf equipment companies. GoDaddy founder Bob Parsons has made quite a splash for his club company, Parsons Xtreme Golf.
PXG signed Billy Horschel, Zach Johnson, James Hahn, Chris Kirk, Davis Love III and Charles Howell III to its stable of golfers for 2016. It's a fascinating move for a company that previously only employed Ryan Moore and Rocco Mediate.
One tour veteran told Rick Young of Score Golf, “This isn’t a hobby for (Parsons) anymore.”
It's also not a move I saw coming. PXG is an outsider in a game where outsiders are usually shunned (until they aren't). One big issue people will take with the new kid on the block? The price point of its clubs to the public. It will cost you a small fortune to start playing their clubs.
Wanna play like the pros? No problem. PXG clubs available at retail for around $700 per driver and $300 for each individual iron.

These are absolutely some big names. But there aren't any monstrous names ... yet. There might be, though. It will be interesting to see how this experiment goes for several tour pros and if PXG can land a truly big gun (Rickie Fowler? Jason Day?) in the near future.
