Masters 2017: Jordan Spieth posts a brutal 9 on a par 5, tumbles down leaderboard
The No. 6 golfer in the world is once again having some trouble on the second nine
AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Jordan Spieth went a full 21 holes between quadruple bogeys at the Masters. After infamously making a seven on the par-3 12th in the final round in 2016, Spieth followed it up with a nine (!) on the par-5 15th on Thursday in Round 1 of the 2017 edition.
Spieth spun his third shot in the water hugging the front of the green. He then dropped and hit his fifth over the green. He nearly chipped into the water and three-putted for the quadruple bogey. The score dropped him from even par to 4 over, seven strokes back of his playing partner (and the leader) Matthew Fitzpatrick.

The 15th hole has been playing about a half stroke over par for most of the day on Thursday. It doesn’t exactly bode well for his chances to win the green jacket this week.
Jordan Spieth records a 9 on 15. No player has ever made worse than 7 on any hole in #TheMasters & won that week.

On the bright side, Spieth did par No. 12 following the nightmare last year.
