Sergio Garcia is getting married in 2017, it seems. Garcia announced on Twitter on Friday that he will wed girlfriend, and former Golf Channel reporter, Angela Akins. The two have been dating for around a year. Garcia has never been married before.

"Some very exciting news for us!" wrote Garcia on Twitter. The Spaniard is currently No. 13 in the Official World Golf Rankings. "We are getting married this year! Thrilled to see what the future bring us!"

"I can't wait to marry my best friend and love of my life!" added Akins. "Following my heart has led to the greatest blessing of my life!"

It's clear that Garcia is in a better spot mentally than he was in the middle part of his career. His on-course demeanor has changed. He is happier, it seems. Maybe that's projecting a little bit, but he hasn't really objected to that sentiment in the recent past.

"It definitely helps," Garcia told Bunkered at The Open last year of his off-course life. "Every little thing that adds up is always good. When things are lined up nicely in your life outside of the game, your mind is calmer, you're happier and those things are always good."
