The 2016 non-waiver deadline falls on August 1 this year, meaning it's just over a day away now. We've already seen a handful of trades go down the last few days, including ones involving Aroldis Chapman and Andrew Miller.

To help you keep track of all the rumors and rumblings, we'll log the day's buzz right here, so make sure you check back often for the latest updates. Here's a look back at Saturday's trade chatter.

Four teams chasing Beltran

Update: 9:36 p.m. ET

Having already parted with the likes of Aroldis Chapman and Andrew Miller, the Yankees are clearly willing to part with veterans in advance of the deadline. That general principle brings us to 39-year-old Carlos Beltran, who's hitting .304/.344/.546 with 22 homers this season. Plenty of contenders can use a bat like that, and indeed plenty of teams appear to be interested in Beltran ...

Color me skeptical that the Yanks would trade an impact player to the Red Sox, but there's no doubt that they should be able to find a taker.

Orioles deal for Miley

Update: 7:10 p.m. ET

The Orioles have fortified their rotation by trading for veteran lefty Wade Miley. For their part, the Mariners will receive 27-year-old lefty Ariel Miranda. Get more details here.

Rangers pursuing Lucroy, Jeffress

Update: 4:06 p.m. ET

Here's some good news for Rangers fans wanting Jonathan Lucroy: the Mets appear to be out o the running, per Jayson Stark. And here's even more good news: the Rangers are reportedly having ongoing talks with the Brewers about acquiring Lucroy and closer Jeremy Jeffress. It's unclear whether a trade is close -- at this time of the year, things can get done or fall apart on a whim -- but the Rangers have the prospect pieces to get a trade done.

Tigers looking for a back-end starter

Update: 2:55 p.m. ET

Per ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick, the Tigers have been checking in on various back-of-the-rotation types. Crasnick names, among others, Wade Miley, Hector Santiago, and Erasmo Ramirez. Even with Jordan Zimmermann expected to return in the coming weeks, the Tigers could use another starter. Detroit entered Sunday a game back in the wild card race, which is impressive considering they're starting Mike Pelfrey and Anibal Sanchez two out of every five days. It's unclear if or how close the Tigers are to landing a starter.

Yankees shopping Beltran

Update: 2:42 p.m. ET

Given their trades this week, it's probably not a surprise to hear that the Yankees are listening on outfielder Carlos Beltran, according Buster Olney. Beltran is a free agent at season's end, yet the price is said to be awfully high. Mock that if you'd like, but keep in mind that Brian Cashman has netted big returns for both Aroldis Chapman and Andrew Miller ... so he probably knows what he's doing.

Rangers interested in Lucroy again

Update: 2:35 p.m. ET

You knew it would be only a matter of time before the Rangers got re-involved in the Lucroy sweepstakes. Sure enough, that point has come, according to Ken Rosenthal. The Rangers -- who aren't covered by Lucroy's no-trade clause -- have to be viewed as the favorites, since they have both the incentive and prospect means to get a deal done -- the latter being what elevates them above the Mets.

Dodgers, Jays tried for two A's

Update: 1:45 p.m. ET

Per Ken Rosenthal, both the Dodgers and the Blue Jays tried acquiring Rich Hill and Josh Reddick from the Athletics. Each Hill and Reddick are free agents at season's end who have missed time due to injury. Hill, in fact, will enter August on the disabled list. Nonetheless, the A's figure to find a taker -- and perhaps one who grabs Reddick at the same time.

L.A. 'connected' to Archer, Moore

Update: 1:29 p.m. ET

As the Dodgers shop around for deadline deals, it's probably not too surprising that they've had talks about a few of the Rays' starting pitchers. Those conversations have included Matt Moore, per Andy McCullough. According to McCullough, the price is "steep" -- albeit not as high as the price for Chris Archer ... who the Dodgers also maintain interest in. It's unclear whether a deal is realistic, though two of the Dodgers' top prospects are out of Sunday's lineup.

Interest in Hellickson remains strong

Update: 12:25 p.m. ET

Per Robert Murray, roughly eight teams had scouts at Jeremy Hellickson's start last night. That count includes the Giants, Dodgers, and Marlins, among others. A pending free agent, Hellickson is one of the top starters on the market. He figures to be dealt before Monday's deadline.

Giants asking around about relievers

Update: 12:22 p.m. ET

According to Bob Nightengale, the Giants have called the Brewers concerning relievers Jeremy Jeffress and Will Smith. As Nightengale notes, the market's top closers -- Mark Melancon, Andrew Miller, and Aroldis Chapman -- have been removed from the board. The Giants, along with most other contenders, have been rumored to shopping for some bullpen help for most of the month.

Who's left for Lucroy?

Update: 11:59 a.m. ET

With Jonathan Lucroy invoking his no-trade clause to nix a trade to the Indians, the question now is what his market looks like heading forward. The Rangers and Mets have been the teams most commonly linked to him, and neither can have their efforts thwarted by his no-trade clause. Additionally, Jon Heyman reported this morning that the Dodgers have interest in Lucroy as part of a larger deal. You can bet other, unnamed teams are monitoring the situation as well.

Lucroy vetoes Cleveland trade

Update: 11:11 a.m. ET

It appears as if the best catcher available will remain on the trade market at least for another day. With the non-waiver trade deadline just over 24 hours away, Lucroy has decided to veto the swap through the execution of his no-trade clause, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

According to Bob Nightengale, Lucroy turned down the trade over concerns over playing time in 2017. The Indians did not offer financial inducement.

Cardinals add Duke

Update: 10:43 a.m. ET

The Cardinals needed to add some relief help, and on Sunday they did just that, acquiring Zach Duke from the White Sox in exchange for outfielder Charlie Tilson. Duke has revitalized his career over the last several seasons, and ought to provide Mike Matheny with a rubber-armed middle-relief option who can generate groundballs and match up against left-handed batters. He's under contract through next season. Tilson, meanwhile, projects as a hard-nosed reserve outfielder type.

Yankees acquire Clippard

Update: 10:35 a.m. ET

It appears the Yankees aren't going to give up on 2016 just yet after all. Right after trading Andrew Miller to the Indians, Brian Cashman has gone out and acquired Tyler Clippard from the Diamondbacks, per Jon Heyman. Clippard, of course, began his career with the Yankees. He's since enjoyed an extended career arc as a high-quality, reliable setup man. Over the past year-plus, however, Clippard has seen his performance dip, and he's coming off a stint in Arizona where he allowed far too many home runs to succeed. Yankees Stadium wouldn't seem to be the best fit for his stair-stepping ways, but the Yankees seem to think it'll work out okay. Clippard is under contract through next season, so they better be right.

Arizona's Miller drawing interest

Update: 10:20 a.m. ET

In not-so-surprising news: Diamondbacks' right-hander Shelby Miller is drawing a lot of interest, per general manager Dave Stewart. Miller is suffering through a miserable season, yet he's just 12 months removed from an All-Star appearance. We took a look at some of the best-possible fits for Miller earlier today.

Indians land Andrew Miller

Update: 10:06 a.m. ET

Less than 12 hours after reportedly agreeing to a trade for Jonathan Lucroy, the Indians went out and acquired another big-named player: netting Andrew Miller from the Yankees in exchange for four prospects. Included in that package: Clint Frazier and Justus Sheffield, whom MLB.com ranked as the no. 1 and 5 prospects in the Indians' system. For more on that trade, check out our coverage here.
