MLB Hot Stove Signings: Rays, Wilson Ramos reportedly agree on two-year deal
It is pending a physical and keep in mind Ramos is coming off a torn ACL
All-Star catcher Wilson Ramos' career year heading in his walk year turned into a disaster when he tore his ACL in the final week of the season. He has, however, agreed to a two-year pact with the Tampa Bay Rays, reports Joel Sherman of the New York Post. Of course, the deal is pending a physical and we know that Ramos is coming off major knee surgery.
As for the dollars:
Wilson Ramos will get guaranteed $12.5 million from #Rays, and could earn $18.25 million if incentives are reached, per @JonHeyman

A two-year deal gives Ramos the ability to take his time on rehab for next season and then hit free agency again following his age-30 season. Overall, this is a win for Ramos, under the circumstances.
Last season, Ramos hit .307/.354/.496 with 25 doubles, 22 homers and 80 RBI to go along with his good defense behind the plate, making him one of baseball's best two-way catchers. He looked in line for a huge payday until he tore his ACL on a freak accident at home plate on Sept. 26.
The Rays figure to open the season with Curt Casali behind the plate on a regular basis until Ramos is ready and even then, expect him to be eased in. A June target for Ramos is reasonable.
With Ramos off the market, the best remaining free-agent catcher is Matt Wieters.
