MLB Playoffs 2016: Updated World Series projections, odds, probabilities
Here's how the odds look after ALCS Game 2 and NLCS Game 1
On Saturday, the league championship round inched closer to completion, with the Indians beating the Blue Jays to take a 2-0 series lead, and the Cubs topping the Dodgers to take a 1-0 lead. As such, this is an opportune time to check in on World Series odds.
Per SportsLine, here are the chances for each playoff team to win the LCS and World Series, sorted by World Series championship chances:
| Team | Win LCS | Win WS |
Chicago Cubs | 62.8% | 35.4% |
Cleveland Indians | 72.6% | 31.5% |
Los Angeles Dodgers | 37.2% | 21.0% |
Toronto Blue Jays | 27.4% | 12.1% |
Pretty balanced at the top. The Indians have the best shot at winning the LCS because, obviously, they're closest to doing so. The Cubs, on the other paw, are considered the best team -- hence a higher likelihood of winning the World Series. As for the Blue Jays, they need a win. Badly.
Game 2 of the NLCS is in Chicago Sunday evening. We'll see what happens, and how it causes these odds to fluctuate.
