Giants SP Tim Hudson signals 2015 season will be his last
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com

Giants veteran starting pitcher Tim Hudson indicated Tuesday the 2015 season will probably be his last year in the majors.

"I have one more year left on my contract, so I'm pretty sure that's going to be it after this season," said Hudson, speaking at Auburn, where he played in college. "I just started my workouts yesterday, which is kind of crazy to me. Just two weeks ago I was still playing and here I am having to get back ready for next season again.

"I guess that's the price you pay when you play that late into the season come playoff time. But I'm going to work my tail off this offseason to get ready to go on to spring training in as good a shape as I can be and hopefully finish [next] season strong. It's been an unbelievable career for me."

Hudson became a four-time All-Star in his 16th MLB season in 2014. He went 9-13 with a 3.57 ERA in 31 starts last season. He has 214 career wins.

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Giants pitcher Tim Hudson got the quick hook Wednesday in Game 7 against the Royals.

Hudson lasted just 1 2/3 innings, giving up two runs on three hits. He struck out one and walked one during the outing. Manager Bruce Bochy had a quick hook with the season on line, and pulled Hudson at the first sign of trouble. With the game tied 2-2, Hudson was pulled after giving up a single to Alcides Escobar. He threw 28 pitches during the outing.

Giants SP Tim Hudson saddled with the loss Game 3
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Giants pitcher Tim Hudson was saddled with the loss Game 3 against the Royals.

Hudson allowed three runs on four hits over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out two and walked one during the outing. Hudson found himself in trouble immediately. After giving up a leadoff double to start the game, Hudson allowed a run on an RBI-single just a few hitters later. He would settle in at that point, tossing four scoreless frames.

Hudson ran out of gas in the sixth. Alcides Escobar was able to reach on a single, and was driven home on an Alex Gordon double. After picking up a groundout, Hudson left the game. Javier Lopez came on in relief and allowed an RBI-single against Eric Hosmer. The run would be charged to Hudson.

Giants announce World Series rotation
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Giants manager Bruce Bochy will maintain his current rotation for the World Series, which means Madison Bumgarner and Jake Peavy will start Games 1 and 2 in Kansas City, the San Francisco Chronicle reports Saturday. Tim Hudson and Ryan Vogelsong will pitch Games 3 and 4 at home.

Bochy is also expected to keep veteran Tim Lincecum on the roster. Lincecum has yet to make an appearance this postseason for San Francisco.

Giants' Tim Hudson knocked around Tuesday
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Giants pitcher Tim Hudson had a bit of a tough start Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Hudson allowed four runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings. He struck out five and did not issue any walks during the outing. After a scoreless first inning, Hudson was spotted with a four run lead after the bottom of the frame. He would give it all back as the game went on. A Kolten Wong triple would bring in two runs in the fourth, a Jhonny Peralta single would add another in the sixth and a Randal Grichuk solo shot would tie things up in the seventh. Hudson would leave the game at that point. He did not factor into the decision.
