Yankees starting pitcher Hiroki Kuroda turned in a stellar performance as he picked up his sixth win of the season Friday night against the Blue Jays.

Kuroda (6-2), who made his ninth start of the season, fired eight scoreless innings and surrendered just two hits. He struck out five and walked one in a 5-0 victory.

Kuroda has five starts with eight-plus scoreless innings since the start of the 2012 season. The only pitcher with more over that span is Felix Hernandez (eight). Kuroda is scheduled to make his next start Wednesday at Baltimore. He pitched a complete-game shutout in his previous meeting against the Orioles on April 14.

Yankees starting pitcher Hiroki Kuroda allowed only a sacrifice fly to Alex Gordon and an RBI groundout to Alcides Escobar in 7 2/3 innings, leading New York to a 4-2 win against the Royals Sunday. Kuroda (5-2) allowed the two runs on six hits and a walk, while striking out one.

The right-hander had a 15-batter stretch without allowing a hit and win for the fifth time in his last seven starts.

Kuroda is expected to start Friday against the Blue Jays. Kuroda is 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA in two starts against Toronto this season.

Yankees starter Hiroki Kuroda didn't pitch well enough to beat Jorge De La Rosa and the Rockies in Colorado Tuesday night. Still, he was pretty good over seven innings in defeat.

Kuroda threw 101 pitches and gave up just two runs on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts. However, he surrendered a two-run homer in the sixth to Carlos Gonzalez and De La Rosa and the Colorado bullpen combined for a 2-0 shutout.

Kuroda has been sharp for the Yankees with his 4-2 record and 2.30 ERA. He's allowed no more than three runs in any start and has done that only twice over seven outings. He consistently gets deep in games and has a beautiful 1.07 WHIP with 33 Ks over 43 innings.

Kuroda is scheduled to make his next start Sunday at Kansas City.
