| Parrino connects for first ML homer: Padres infielder Andy Parrino received the start at second base in Sunday's series finale against the Dodgers. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk in the 8-4 win. He launched a solo shot off Aaron Harang in the fourth inning for the first long ball of his career. "I don't see Andy Parrino as a prolific home run hitter," manager Bud Black told MLB.com. "But he takes an aggressive swing. ... For a guy who doesn't look the part, he has surprising power." | Parrino has shown the power to hit double-digit homers in the minors but did not bat over .300 until last season. His performance on Sunday will likely earn him some at-bats going forward so keep an eye on how the Padres use him. The 26-year-old would be worth a look in deeper NL-only formats with more playing time but should be ignored in the majority of Fantasy leagues at this point. (Updated 04/08/2012). |
