| ChiSox get to Gomez: After not giving up a run in each of his last two outings, Indians pitcher Jeanmar Gomez got touched up a bit on Friday night against the White Sox. He allowed six runs on six hits with four walks over 5 2/3 innings in the 9-3 loss. He surrendered a two-run homer to Adam Dunn in the first before A.J. Pierzynski victimized the right-hander for a solo shot the following frame. Then in the sixth, he was pulled for Jairo Asencio after giving up an RBI single to Alexei Ramirez. The bullpen would allow two inherited runners to score, charging Gomez with hi final damage. Gomez also struck out three while taking his third loss of the season. (Updated 05/25/2012) |

| Fantasy Analysis |
| Gomez has allowed three earned runs or fewer in all but two starts thus far but he saw his ERA raise from 3.19 to 3.94 on Friday. He would become more valuable in Fantasy if he could be more consistent so owners should keep an eye on his progress going forward. The 24-year-old has some decent upside and should remain active in AL-only formats at this point. His next start is scheduled for Wednesday against the Royals. When Gomez faced Kansas City on April 14, he allowed one run over two innings before being ejected. (Updated 05/25/2012). |
