Blue Jays pitcher R.A. Dickey was hittable Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Dickey allowed four runs on nine hits over six innings of work. He struck out five and walked one. Dickey threw 97 pitches. Dickey ran into trouble early. After giving up two singles to open the game, Dickey allowed a three-run home run against David Ortiz. Dickey settled in at that point, tossing four straight scoreless innings. He ran into trouble again in the sixth, allowing a one-run double. 

The Blue Jays offense showed up Wednesday, putting Dickey in line for the win. With the win, Dickey improved to 8-10 on the year. His next start will come against the Red Sox.

Blue Jays starter R.A. Dickey got roughed up in his first start after the break Friday night against the Rangers, dropping to 7-10 on the year. The knuckleballer permitted five runs on six hits and no walks while striking out seven over seven innings of a 5-1 defeat.

Over his last two starts covering 13 innings, Dickey has allowed seven earned runs. He owns a 3.95 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP over 21 starts (132 innings). His next start will come Wednesday at home against Boston.

Blue Jays starter R.A. Dickey allowed two runs on five hits over six innings Sunday, but his team gave him no run support in a 3-0 loss to the Rays. Dickey (7-9) struck out and walked three as his ERA dipped to 3.82.

Dickey will stay on regular rest despite the All-Star break, as he's scheduled to pitch Friday against the Rangers.

Blue Jays pitcher R.A. Dickey will make one final start before the All-Star break -- on Sunday against the Rays in Tampa Bay, Sportsnet.ca reports Friday. The move was made based on his track record at Tropicana Field. Dickey is 2-2 with a 3.64 ERA over eight appearances (six starts) in his career in Tampa Bay.
