White Sox closer Addison Reed went 1-2-3 in the ninth inning Monday night in Houston. Reed recorded his 20th save of the season. 

He needed just 15 pitches and did not strike out a batter. His ERA is 3.38. 

The 24-year-old rebounded from blowing his second save his last time out on June 11 against Toronto. It was a long layoff, but Reed looked sharp Monday. 

White Sox closer Addison Reed couldn't hold on to a 5-4 lead in the ninth inning Tuesday at home against the Blue Jays. 

Reed blew his second save of the season as Jose Bautista took him deep for a solo shot with two outs in the inning. He gave up two hits in the inning and struck out a batter as the game went into extra innings. He threw 21 pitches and his ERA is at 3.48. 

Reed, who blew his only other save May 5 at Kansas City, has allowed seven earned runs over his last six appearances, though he gave up five runs in one of those outings. He has 36 Ks over 31 innings on the year.

Reed held a 4-2 lead as he went 1-2-3 for Chicago. He needed 15 pitches and lowered his ERA to 3.41. 

The 24-year-old closer has saves in eight of his last 11 appearances for Chicago. He had one poor outing over that span but has otherwise been very sharp. Reed has 32 Ks over 28 1/3 innings. 

Making his first appearance since giving up five runs in three innings Wednesday, White Sox closer Addison Reed threw 20 pitches against the A's Saturday but recorded a scoreless ninth inning for his 18th save of the year.

Reed gave up just one single in the game while lowering his ERA to 3.54. He's only failed to convert one of his 19 save opportunites this season.
