Marlins LF Christian Yelich gets a breather on Friday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

Marlins left fielder Christian Yelich is being held out of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Orioles. No injury is being reported, so it appears to just be a day off.

Yelich had started every game since returning from a stint on the disabled list on May 8, and he's been struggling offensively. In those 12 games, he's batting just .159 (7 for 44) with a home run and a double.

Ichiro Suzuki will make the start in left field and bat seventh in the order.

Marlins CF Marcell Ozuna returns to starting lineup on Tuesday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

Marlins center fielder Marcell Ozuna is back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks. Ozuna missed Monday's game due to personal reasons, but will only miss the one game.

Ozuna has been struggling at the plate recently with just eight hits in his last 35 at-bats. His return to the lineup puts Ichiro Suzuki back on the bench for Tuesday's game.

Marlins' Ichiro Suzuki ties Babe Ruth for 42nd place in all-time hits
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com

With his second hit during Monday’s loss to the Diamondbacks, Marlins outfielder Ichiro Suzuki collected his 2,873rd hit of his career, which tied Babe Ruth for the 42nd most hits in baseball history, reports NJ.com.

"Obviously, when you think of Babe Ruth, he's a home run hitter," he said. "I never seen him play, and don't know too much about him. For me, I'm just such a different type of player. I like to get hits and use my legs to get different types of hits and obviously he's hitting home runs."

Suzuki, 41, has collected 29 hits in 101 at-bats this season for a .287 average.

Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna (personal) scratched from lineup
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com

Marlins outfielder Marcell Ozuna has gone home for personal reasons and will not play against the Diamondbacks, according to MLB.com.

Ozuna was scheduled to bat fifth and play center field for Miami. Ichiro Suzuki will start in center as Ozuna may need a day or so to deal with the personal issue. Suzuki will bat eighth. He is hitting .276 with three home runs and 11 RBI in 134 at-bats this season.

Marlins rest Mike Morse, Christian Yelich vs. southpaw Alex Wood
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Marlins first baseman Michael Morse and left fielder Christian Yelich were given the day off against left-hander Alex Wood and the Braves on Saturday. Jeff Baker will take over at first base and bat fifth, while Ichiro Suzuki will bat sixth and play left field in Yelich's absence.

Morse has been held without a hit over his last 11 at-bats. He is hitting .214 on the year and is a .143 lifetime hitter against Wood.

Yelich is a lifetime .409 (9 for 22) hitter against the southpaw, but is hitting.160 (4 for 25) since returning from the disabled list.

Miami is favored (-125) at home against Atlanta, per VegasInsider.com.
