Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira took four simulated at-bats Tuesday, the Journal News reports. 

"They told me Tex saw 40 to 45 pitches in four ABs," manager Joe Girardi said of the at-bats in the simulated games being longer than normal at-bats. "I don't imagine that's (a real game). I don't know how you do that." 

While Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira was estatic about participating in a simulated game Monday, general manager Brian Cashman is tempering his excitement, per the New York Post.

"Until (Teixeira) is actually rehabbing in games...we'll hold our breath for a while, and then he'll go through spring training," Cashman said. "If that goes fine, then I'll believe at we're OK. But prior to that, I'm not gonna count my chickens yet. But I know he feels really good. I know he feels strongly that this is going to be successful, and that's great."

Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira (wrist) took to Twitter Monday morning to update his rehab. Teixeira was excited after making it through a simulated game.

"Felt good to get my first AB's since March," Teixeira wrote. "1-2 with a double and a walk, I'll take it. #Yankees in first place, I'll take that too!"

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Sunday that the news on injured first baseman Mark Teixeira’s recovery from a wrist injury has been positive, the Journal News reports. 

"He’s been taking BP," Girardi said. "He’s doing actually really well. We’re encouraged by what he’s doing. There has to be probably a next step here pretty quick where he starts to see some live BP or some simulated games."

Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira said Tuesday his rehab is going "great" and he expects to be in the majors by June 1, MLB.com reports.

Teixeira isn't eligible to return to the Yankees' roster until May 30 as he was shifted to the 60-day disabled list earlier in the month. He took batting practice for the first time last week. Expect him to head out on a rehab assignment at some point in the next couple of weeks if he is to actually reach his goal of being ready by June 1.
