James Loney drives in three in blowout
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com

Rays first baseman James Loney drove in three runs in an 8-0 win over the Astros Saturday.

Loney opened the game with an RBI single in the first inning, and then closed it out with two more runs on an eighth-inning RBI. He finished the game 2 for 5 as the Rays ran away with it.

Loney has had trouble finding his power stroke this season, as he has just three home runs in 74 games. He is hitting .280/.338/.376 in 279 at-bats, with 36 RBI.

James Loney knocks second home run Monday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Rays first baseman James Loney went 1 for 4 with a home run and two RBI in his team's 10-5 loss to the Blue Jays Monday.

After picking up his first RBI on a sacrifice fly in the third inning, Loney hit back-to-back home runs with Desmond Jennings in the top of the fifth inning to even the score at 5-5, but the Blue Jays rattled off four runs in the bottom of the inning and tack on one more in the sixth. Loney has hit .294/.354/.385 with two home runs and 28 RBI in 187 at-bats.

James Loney drives in two
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Rays first baseman James Loney drove in two Thursday against the Angels.

Loney stepped to the plate with two men in scoring position in the sixth inning. He worked a five-pitch at-bat from Tyler Skaggs before eventually stroking a single to right, driving in both runners. Loney also singled earlier in the game. He finished 2 for 4, with one run scored and two RBI.

Hitters to sit in Week 7
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer

Frustrated with Aramis Ramirez yet? Wonder how much longer Colby Rasmus' power surge can last? Both are "sits" for me in Fantasy Week 7 (May 12-18), along with Welington Castillo, James Loney, Martin Prado and Jimmy Rollins.

Of course, whether or not you should actually sit them depends on what else is available to you. For additional context, check out the latest edition of Start and Sit Hitters.

James Loney falls into mini-slump
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com

A hot streak has been followed by a cold streak for Rays first baseman James Loney.

Loney smacked 11 hits in 19 at-bats to start the month but has since gone 1 for 13. His average, however, remains high at .314. He is on pace to compile rather unusual power numbers - five home runs and 88 RBI.

His ability to make consistent contact makes him unlikely to fall into extended slumps. He has fanned just 12 times in 121 at-bats.
