Rays first baseman James Loney came up big at the plate Friday night against the Yankees.

Loney doubled in two runs in the fourth off starter Hidoki Kuroda and singled two more runs in the seventh off reliever Adam Warren to give his team the lead for good. He was also plunked eighth and finished 2 for 4 with four RBI in an 11-5 victory. He is hitting .235/.322/.392 with one home run and nine RBI in 51 at-bats to start the season.

Rays first baseman James Loney provided the sole offense in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Reds, going 1 for 4 with a second-inning home run.

Loney's first home run of the season coupled with brilliant pitching by Alex Cobb delivered a win to the Rays Saturday, but Loney is still looking to get going at the plate. He has hit just .184/.273/.316 in 38 at-bats this season.

First baseman James Loney revived his career last season after a poor 2013. He has taken that momentum and run with it for the Rays this spring.

He continued to pound the baseball Saturday against Baltimore with a two-run homer in the first inning off Ubaldo Jimenez. His 1-for-3 performance actually lowered his batting average to .424.
