Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin enjoyed a productive performance at the plate Friday night against the Diamondbacks, after missing the previous two games with a knee injury.

Quentin doubled in the second, singled in the sixth and doubled again in the eighth. He finished 3 for 3 with a walk and a run scored in a 5-2 defeat.

Quentin is hitting .304 (7 for 23) with three doubles, a home run and three RBI in his last six games played. He has a .204/.321/.419 slash line with four home runs and 14 RBI in 93 at-bats.

Quentin is in the lineup batting fourth and in his usual spot in left field.

Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin had a cortisone injection in his left knee Wednesday and hopes to be ready Friday for the Diamondbacks, according to MLB.com. Quentin missed his second game in a row Wednesday, against the Cardinals, after he injured the knee Monday sliding into a base.  

Despite manager Bud Black saying he would return Wednesday, Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin was again not in the lineup against the Cardinals. Quentin has missed back-to-back games since tweaking his knee on a slide Monday.

Quentin has played in two games over the last week.

Quentin has played just twice since May 15. He is hitting .200 (5 for 25) in his last seven games played.
