With quality starters like Brandon Beachy, Michael Pineda, Colby Lewis and Daniel Hudson all being candidates for a DL stash in Fantasy, not many owners have had John Danks' return from a shoulder injury on their mind. However, Danks is expected to make his season debut for the White Sox on Friday against the Marlins, so it's time to give the lefty a little attention.

Even with the majors' most coveted matchup on hand, it's too risky to start Danks in most leagues right now, but with a 16 percent ownership rate, he is being overlooked in many deeper mixed leagues. A healthy Danks is a good bet to provide a sub-4.00 ERA. a WHIP below 1.30 and a decent strikeout rate. It's not exciting, but those stats can come in handy in a 15-team mixed league.

Though you probably won't use him right away, pick up Danks now in those formats, and you may enjoy some nice production in the not-too-distant future.

White Sox starter John Danks (shoulder) completed Tuesday's bullpen session without any issues. Manager Robin Ventura will officially announce his starter for Friday's game against Miami on Wednesday.

As previously reported, Danks is expected to be activated from the disabled list before Friday's game, according to CBSSports Baseball Insider Jon Heyman. Danks is 10 months removed from shoulder surgery. He went 2-0 with a 3.18 ERA in four minor-league rehab starts.

Danks has been sidelined with a shoulder injury. He's made four starts in the minors. In his three Triple-A starts, Danks has a 3.45 ERA in 15 2/3 innings. Danks' first start of the year will come against the Marlins.

Though the White Sox don't have anything written in stone, it appears Danks will make his season debut versus Miami. 

"We'll have a plan midweek and announce what the next step will be," general manager Rick Hahn said of Danks. "We'll have him around for the next couple days, probably throw a [side session] with [pitching coach Don Cooper]."

Danks has made four minor-league starts.
