Ryan Hanigan finally feeling healthy
by Adam Moore | CBSSports.com

Reds catcher Ryan Hanigan said he had no issues with his strained left oblique or right thumb injury during his return to the lineup Friday against the Brewers. Hanigan, who had been sidelined since April 19 with his injuries, went 2 for 4 with a pair of singles in his first game back in action and also made a diving catch on a Jean Segura sacrifice bunt attempt.

"Good start [to] get things going in the right direction," Hanigan told MLB.com. "I feel better, so I think I'm going to have more of a chance now, and it's a lot more confident swing when you're not distracted by pain and stuff like that."

Reds activate Ryan Hanigan
by Jack Moore | CBSSports.com

The Reds have activated catcher Ryan Hanigan from the disabled list, the club announced Friday.

Hanigan has been out since April with a strained oblique. Devin Mesoraco hasn't been impressive in his absence -- hitting .226/.324/.339 in 21 games -- so Hanigan could have the opportunity to win back the starting job, although he was hitting .079/.182/.079 before the injury.
