Blue Jays' Troy Tulowitzki hits two-run home run in team debut
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki made quite an impression with his new team on Wednesday. Playing in his first game with the Blue Jays, Tulowitzki went 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles and a two-run home run and three RBI in the 8-2 win over the Phillies.

Tulowitzki was batting leadoff for the first time since his rookie year in 2006. It's the first time he ever started a game in the lead-off position.

But regardless of where he was batting, Tulowitzki had a great night for his new club, as he blasted his 13th home run in the second inning.

Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki snaps 41-game on-base streak
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki failed to reach base in Tuesday's 9-0 loss to the Rangers, snapping a string of 41 consecutive games in which he recorded a hit or a walk. The streak began on May 26, and raised his batting average from .272 to .316.

Over the course of the streak, Tulowitzki batted .365 with four doubles, 10 homers and 34 RBI. He also waked 18 times and scored 27 runs. The streak matched Todd Helton and Andres Galarraga for the second-longest in franchise history (current Mets outfielder Michael Cuddyer owns the Rockies' longest such streak at 46 games).

"I was very into my routine," Tulowitzki said, per The Denver Post. "My focus was high. When you have a streak, you get to those third and fourth at-bats and the focus is still there, even in a blowout or things like that."

Tulowitzki's run was also the second-longest of the season, as Matt Holliday of the Cardinals recently ended his 45-game streak.

Rockies' Troy Tulowitzki blasts off for 11th home run on Saturday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki connected on his 11th homer of the year in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Padres. Tulowitzki, who went 2 for 4 in the game, hit his home run in the top of the eighth inning to trim the Padres' lead to one run, but it wasn't enough to avoid the defeat.

The 2015 All-Star has three home runs in his last eight games. He's batting .290 (9 for 31) during that time.
