| Renteria swinging hot bat: Cincinnati SS Edgar Renteria finished 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI during the Reds' 6-4 loss to St. Louis on Saturday. Renteria recorded a run-scoring double in the first inning to push his hitting streak to three games. It was the second straight game he has driven in a run. (Updated 09/03/2011) |

| Renteria has improved his batting average 14 points since the beginning of September as he's collected a hit in each game this month. The veteran infielder has registered two doubles during his modest hitting streak to already match his output from August. Fantasy owners shouldn't rely on him for much power, but he could make for a decent option in deeper NL-only Fantasy formats if he stays hot at the plate. (Updated 09/03/2011). |
