LeBron James joins 20,000 points, 5,000 assists club

By Matt Moore | NBA writer

LeBron James passed the 20,000-point mark on Wednesday night with a jumper over David Lee in the Heat's 92-75 victory over the Warriors. James had 13 points in the first quarter before crossing the threshold in the second quarter.

James also passed the 5,000-assist mark in the game, with an alley-oop lob to Dwyane Wade. It makes James only the 13th player in NBA history to reach both milestones and only the 12th to pass 20,000 points, 5,000 assists and 5,000 rebounds.

James' next-level era of play was on display early. After a full-court alley-oop from Wade and a bevy of jumpers, James hurt his elbow in the first quarter on a transition drive. He came up holding his arm and looked like he would come out of the game. Instead, he calmly walked down the floor and nailed a 3.

So, yeah, that guy's pretty good at basketball, it turns out.

James is the youngest to pass 20,000 points at age 28.
