Pacers' Myles Turner suffered a concussion, may not be ready for camp
This hopefully won't derail the start of the second season for the Pacers' big man
Indiana Pacers big man Myles Turner may not be ready to start training camp after suffering a concussion during workouts last week on the practice court. Turner now has to go through concussion protocol in order to get cleared to get back on the court, and the concussion protocol involves a series of exertion tests to pass without showing signs of symptoms before he can get back to playing and practicing with the team.
The Pacers aren't sure if Turner will be ready for Day 1 of training camp just quite yet.

This shouldn't derail the start of the season for Turner, assuming the concussion isn't something that sticks with him over the next couple of weeks. Turner missed 22 games during his rookie season mostly stemming from a fractured hand that kept him out of 21 straight games in the middle of the season. Other than those missed games, Turner had a very productive and promising rookie season. He averaged 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in just 22.8 minutes of time on the court.

He was great scoring around the rim and showed a very reliable mid-range jumper in spot-up opportunities. He made 42.5 percent of his shots from 16-23 feet, but didn't quite extend his range to 3-point shooting with just 14 attempts on the season (he made three). Moving forward, the Pacers expect Turner to be their defensive anchor inside with Thaddeus Young starting beside him and Al Jefferson backing him up off the bench. But he has to return to the court first.
