Report: Lonzo Ball resting sore groin, out of summer league game vs. De'Aaron Fox
Fox roasted Lonzo in college; their NBA rematch will now have to wait till preseason
The anticipated rematch between Lonzo Ball and De'Aaron Fox must wait because Ball -- the No. 2 overall pick of the Los Angeles Lakers -- reportedly has a groin strain and will sit out Monday night's summer league game against the Sacramento Kings in Las Vegas.
In Ball's final college game, Fox scored 39 points and limited Ball to 10 on 4-of-10 shooting in Kentucky's 86-75 win over UCLA in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. It was a stunning performance for Fox while Ball looked disinterested at times.
Following that game and subsequent NBA Draft buildup, much was made about which lottery-bound point guard was the better prospect. Sam Amick of USA Today reported Ball would rest Monday, and ESPN's Ramona Shelburne reported the injury is not serious, but has been persistent since last week and the Lakers are electing to play it safe.
The news drew an immediate response from Fox on Twitter:

While there will be no rematch Monday, it only fuels the potential rivalry. Next up, a Lakers-Kings preseason game on Oct. 8.
