  • Rift developed between Brown, Suns: Suns guard Shannon Brown is under contract for next season, but that does not mean he will be with the team when they tip off the 2013-14 season. Brown found himself reduced to an almost nonexistent role in the second half of next season, and that was not something that sat well with the seven-year veteran. Brown admitted to the Arizona Republic late in the season that he felt betrayed by the shift in his role, which he says the team did not clarify with him. “I’ve done everything asked of me in practice and made sure to show these people what time it is," he said. "It definitely hurts to sit on the bench, watching us lose night in and night out knowing I can help and being lied to. It’s been a crazy year. I’m just glad I made it through.” Brown is under contract for $3.5 million next season, however only half of that is guaranteed, so the team could choose to deal him or work on a buyout.

    Fantasy Analysis
Brown's shot disappeared last season, as he made just 27.7 percent of his three-point tries, a career low. For a career 33.2 percent shooter, that is a number that will likely improve moving forward. A team looking for an athletic guard might choose to buy low on Brown, which would likely be a better outcome for his Fantasy value than returning to a rebuilding Suns team. He still managed to average 10.5 points per game a year, however his uncertain role makes him unworthy of targeting outside of the deepest of Fantasy formats on Draft Day.
