Hornets' Dwight Howard: Sent to Charlotte in trade
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Howard and the 31st pick in the 2017 NBA Draft will be traded to the Hornets in exchange for Miles Plumlee, Marco Belinelli and the 41st pick, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Howard has two years left on a three-year, $70.5 million deal, so it appears the Hawks didn't like the return they were getting from him and will instead dump his salary off to the Hornets. With Cody Zeller still in fold in Charlotte, Howard enters a slightly more crowded rotation at the center position and it remains to be seen how those minutes will be allocated between the two. Howard should be considered the favorite to start, but the fact that Zeller is still around and Frank Kaminsky occasionally sees time at center as well, it could mean a slight decrease in minutes. In 74 games with Atlanta during the 2016-17 campaign, Howard averaged 13.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1. steal and 1.6 blocks across 32.1 minutes.

Hawks' Dwight Howard: Records first double-double of series Monday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Howard finished with 16 points (6-14 FG, 4-5 FT), 15 rebounds, one assist and one block across 30 minutes of run during Monday's 111-101 win over the Wizards.

After recording just 18 combined points in the first three games, Howard as much more effective on the offensive end in this one and rounded out his double-double by leading the team in boards. His strong play also his breaking of the 30-minute barrier for the first time in four games and he led all Hawks starters with a plus-eight rating. Howard will need to deliver more performance such as this for his team to stand a chance of pulling out this hotly-contested series, as he is still averaging just 8.5 points and 11.8 rebounds per game in the postseason despite this most recent development.

Hawks' Dwight Howard: Plays just 20 minutes in Game 2 loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Howard scored six points (3-5 FG) with seven rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 20 minutes in Wednesday's 109-101 Game 2 loss to the Wizards.

Howard battled foul trouble for much of the night which counts for at least some of his unusually low minutes total. Although, to be fair, he hasn't been particularly effective in either of the series' opening two games combining for just 13 total points.

Hawks' Dwight Howard: Out vs. Pacers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Howard will be rested for Wednesday's game against the Pacers, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Howard will join a number of Hawks regulars in resting Wednesday as the Hawks turn their attention toward the postseason. Expect Mike Muscala and Kris Humphries to both see increased minutes, while Howard will resume his usual role in Game 1 against Washington, which will be either Saturday or Sunday.

Hawks' Dwight Howard: Double-double in Tuesday's win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Howard scored 19 points (7-9 FG, 5-7 FT) while adding 12 rebounds, an assist and a block in 25 minutes during Tuesday's 103-76 win over the Hornets.

The 31-year-old capped the regular season with his 53rd double-double, and Howard has averaged a double-double for an incredible 13th straight season. He'll play a big role in the Hawks' postseason plans, beginning with their first-round series against the Wizards.
