Nuggets' Jameer Nelson: Full stat line in Thursday loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Nelson compiled 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt), six assists, four rebounds and five steals over 29 minutes in Thursday's 116-100 loss to the Kings.

The veteran point guard remained in the starting five to open the second half of the season, once again providing the solid, multi-category production that has come to define the majority of his starting tenure. Emmanuel Mudiay actually received a DNP-Coach's Decision on Thursday, leaving Nelson and rookie Jamal Murray to handle the point guard duties. While it remains to be seen how head coach Mike Malone chooses to deploy his backcourt rotation going forward, Nelson remains a viable option in all formats for the foreseeable future given his starting role.

Nuggets' Jameer Nelson: Will remain starting point guard
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Coach Michael Malone indicated that Nelson would continue to start at point guard Thursday against the Kings, and likely for the games to follow, Harrison Wind of BSN Denver reports.

Nelson has started the previous 14 games at point guard, though most of those assignments were a byproduct of Emmanuel Mudiay (back) missing 11 of those contests. Mudiay is back to full strength after returning to practice Tuesday, but his poor play for much of the season has prompted Malone to cast his lot with Nelson for the time being as the Nuggets look to chase down a playoff spot. Though the 20-year-old Mudiay possesses more upside than the 35-year-old Nelson at this stage of their respective careers, it's hard to dispute Malone's decision given how well Nelson has played. He's averaged 11.0 points, 6.3 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.7 three-pointers in 30.9 minutes per game over those 14 starts, but in the past four games, he's upped those marks to 16.8 points, 9.5 assists, 5.5 boards and 3.0 three-pointers in 35.5 minutes per contest. Nelson's playing time figures to drop at least a little bit now that Mudiay is healthy, but with Malone putting his faith in him, the veteran remains worth holding on to in most leagues.

Nuggets' Jameer Nelson: Turns back clock with 23 in win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Nelson provided 23 points (9-14 FG, 5-7 3pt), seven assists and three rebounds over 34 minutes in Monday's 132-110 win over the Warriors.

The 13-year vet looked a lot more like the Mighty Mouse of old on Monday as he contributed 5 of Denver's record-tying 24 three-pointers in a dominant victory over the Warriors. Since unseating Emmanuel Mudlay (back), he has become Denver's undisputed starting floor general, and as long as he shows flashes of his days with the Hawks, he will still see heavy usage when Mudlay returns. He could be a great value pick in deeper leagues.

Nuggets' Jameer Nelson: Fills stat sheet against Cavs
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Nelson posted 12 points (5-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt), eight rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 36 minutes Saturday during a 125-109 loss to the Cavaliers.

After recording 16 points and 12 assists against New York on Friday, in what was one of Nelson's strongest showings of the season, Nelson stuffed the stat sheet against the Cavaliers. He came down with seven defensive rebounds, the most he's recorded all season, and distributed well as Denver's floor general.

Nuggets' Jameer Nelson: Dishes 12 assists Friday vs. Knicks
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Nelson notched 16 points (6-10 FG, 4-6 3Pt), 12 assists, and four rebounds across 36 minutes during Friday's 131-123 victory over the Knicks.

Nelson took full advantage of Friday's fast-paced action, handing out 12 assists to a red hot Nuggets team who shot 56.8 percent from the field against the Knicks. Nelson's fantasy value is largely tied to Emmanuel Mudiay's (back) health, as Nelson draws the start in his absences. Because of that, he should only be considered in deeper fantasy leagues, but can make for a value play in DFS contests while Mudiay is hurt.
