When West does return, he'll have a couple of weeks to help fill the void left by the injury to Mo Williams along with Daniel Gibson, who is currently starting with both players sidelined. West could become a viable stopgap guard in the short term.

Advice

Authorities say West was carrying two loaded handguns, a loaded shotgun and an 8 1/2-inch Bowie knife while riding a three-wheel motorcycle in Maryland in September. Police say he was pulled over after cutting off an officer. He is charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, carrying a handgun, transporting a handgun, reckless driving and negligent driving. The charges are all misdemeanors. Each weapons count carries a penalty of up to three years in prison.
