John Elway has a long memory.

It was 513 days ago that the NFL held the final day of the 2015 NFL Draft. In the seventh round, the Broncos drafted a quarterback by the name of Trevor Siemian. The Broncos had Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler on the roster at the time, so quarterback wasn't exactly a need.

A Broncos fan decided to let Elway (and whoever runs the Broncos' Twitter account) know he wasn't thrilled with the pick, for exactly that reason. (Why this fan was concerned with "need" in the seventh round is another story.") Why is this story relevant?

Well, because Siemian, making the third start of his career after beating out Mark Sanchez for the job in the wake of Manning's retirement and Osweiler's defection to Houston, had himself a heck of a day. And Elway made sure this Broncos fan knew that he had not forgotten the criticism of the Siemian pick.

The lesson, as always: Don't question seventh-round picks on Twitter because one day the general manager might troll you about it.
