Redskins cornerback Josh Norman learned a very important lesson about the NFL rulebook on Sunday: Don't ever simulate shooting a bow and arrow on the field or you'll be penalized for it.

Norman found that out the hard way during the fourth quarter of the Redskins' 31-20 win over the Browns on Sunday.

With 6:28 left in the game, Norman picked off a pass thrown by Cody Kessler and then proceeded to celebrate by pulling back the string on his imaginary bow and arrow, which you can see here.

Norman was immediately flagged for his celebration, and after that happened, we got what might go down as the best penalty call of 2016: Referee Jeff Triplette specifically mentioned that Norman was being penalized for using his fake bow and arrow.

"Unsportsmanlike conduct, No. 24, [for] simulating a bow and arrow," Triplette said. "That foul counts as one of those that leads to a disqualification."

With that last part his explanation, it's almost as if Triplette was daring Norman to try the bow and arrow stunt again just so he could kick the Redskins' corner out of the game.

The odd thing here is that Norman actually had a reasonable explanation for using his imaginary bow and arrow. The Redskins corner said after the game that he had done the move several times earlier this year and had never been penalized for it.

Several other players also simulated a bow and arrow this year without being penalized for it.

Apparently, the NFL decided to use Week 4 to crack down on players for using an imaginary bow and arrow.

Although the NFL rulebook doesn't explicitly say that you'll be penalized for using a fake bow and arrow, it does say a player can be penalized for "acts that include, but are not limited to: throat slash; machine-gun salute; sexually-suggestive gestures; prolonged gyrations; or stomping on a team logo."

Former NFL VP of officiating, Mike Pereira, says that the bow and arrow is basically the same thing as a gun when it comes to a celebration.

Don't be surprised if "bow and arrow" is officially added to the banned list for next season.

Anyway, Norman's pick capped a wild day for him. First, he got burnt by Terrelle Pryor for a touchdown, then he made up for it by nabbing the fourth quarter pick. And finally, his day ended when he basically laughed at the Panthers defense when he found out that Julio Jones went for 300 yards against them.
