Tom Brady's decision not to attend the White House ceremony last month to celebrate the Patriots' Super Bowl win over the Seahawks led to all sorts of speculation about his motivations for doing so. On Thursday, making his first appearance since the Wells report was released, Brady explained to an audience at Salem State why he didn't make the White House trip. (via CSNNE.com)

"Did the team go?" the quarterback joked before adding: "Unfortunately I couldn't make that, I had a family commitment. But the team enjoyed it. It's such a great honor. I've been lucky to go there three times professionally and then once when I was in college. It's a pretty cool place, you guys should go next time. Hopefully we're back there next year."

In addition to family commitments, Brady was also spotted at the team facility in Foxborough, Mass. And less than 24 hours later, he was at the New York City Apple Store trying on Apple Watches. But should the Patriots win another Super Bowl, you can guarantee Brady will be on the South Lawn of the White House soaking it all in.

"Absolutely," he said. "If we get that opportunity, there's no doubt I'll be there. They should just give me a little more planning in advance."

Maybe Brady could even set a reminder on his Apple Watch.
