WATCH: John Cena brings the jokes at the ESPYs, likens Goodell to McMahon
John Cena brings the monologue heat
Professional wrestling is sports, but it's also scripted TV. The WWE has storylines involving heroes and villains, just like any other sport, but the difference is that those storylines are masterminded by writers behind the scenes as much as they are by what happens in the ring.
The man behind the curtain is Vince McMahon, who in addition to being the owner of the WWE is also a villainous character in the sport's ongoing saga. He's feuded with such high-profile stars at The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, D-Generation X, Randy Orton and Bret Hart among others over the last 35-plus years.

Speaking of players Goodell has feuded with... Tom Brady played a part in a sketch celebrating his former frenemy Peyton Manning. Brady sat at a locker (With his hat on backward because he's not a winner!) and read a letter "from" Manning that went a little something like this:
It's good to see that in these trying times of appeals for an en banc hearing getting turned down Brady still has a sense of humor.
