The San Diego Chargers have announced they have released tight end Kyle Miller .
The transaction suggests that Ladarius Green (concussion) is expected back for Week 4. Miller was merely signed to temporarily provide depth.
Miller will provide more depth at tight end with Ladarius Green suffering concussion-like symptoms Wednesday and Antonio Gates out two more weeks due to suspension.
It's unlikely Miller will find his way onto the field much with John Phillips and David Johnson ahead of him on the depth chart, however this move speaks to the concerns San Diego may have regarding Green's second concussion this month.
The loss of D.J. Fluker to injury has prompted the
Wiggins played the last two seasons with San Diego. Miller, who was claimed in the spring, has played in just two NFL games over five seasons. He has yet to catch a pass.
Milller has appeared in one game since entering the league in 2012 without making a catch.
Miller was with the Falcons' practice squad in 2014. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Jaguars in 2012.
