  • Orton throws a TD in garbage time : Cowboys quarterback Kyle Orton threw his first touchdown pass of the season in Week 4 against the Bears. Orton, who entered the contest late in the fourth quarter with the game already decided, was able to find Jason Witten on a 5-yard scoring strike. He finished 9 for 10 for 89 yards and a score in his lone series of work.

    Orton came in during garbage time and quickly moved the ball downfield as the Bears' second team. Despite Tony Romo's poor performance Monday night, he is no danger of losing his starting job, which means Orton will remain nothing more than a backup when Dallas heads out to Baltimore to face the Ravens in Week 6. Continue to ignore Orton in all formats moving forward. The Cowboys have a bye in Week 5.

Last March, t he team signed Brandon Lloyd as its new deep threat, a role he had success in when playing for Pats offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels when both were in Denver. In 2010, Lloyd had 77 receptions for 1,448 yards (18.8 YPC) and 11 touchdowns. And this was with Kyle Orton throwing him passes.
