The San Jose Sharks looked like a desperate team to start the second period. Trailing the Pittsburgh Penguins 1-0 and facing the end of their season with a loss, the Sharks came out flying to regain some momentum in Game 6.

They did better than just grab momentum in the period, they actually tied the game off a nice play from Brent Burns and a great finish from Logan Couture to make it 1-1.

Couture's playoff-leading 30th point electrified the SAP Center and at least made it look like the Sharks were about to take control of the game. That feeling was short-lived, however.

Only 1:19 passed before the Penguins stole back the momentum and regained the lead on a tremendous play that started with some fancy stick work and skating by Kris Letang. He would also be the man that finished it.

After the Penguins got some sustained pressure in the Sharks' zone, Letang took the puck from his point, weaved through some defenders and got down into the corner. He tried to center the puck, but it was blocked in front. Sidney Crosby was the first to get to the puck. Letang stayed down low and gave Crosby a wide-open target. The pass was perfect, the finish was perfect. 2-1 Penguins.

That couldn't have been smoother from Letang and it couldn't have been more deflating for the Sharks after having worked so hard to get the game tied.
