  • Ducks' Mason McTavish: Opens scoring in win

McTavish scored a goal on four shots, blocked two shots, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Monday's 4-1 win over the Blues.

The Ducks spread the ice time around while dressing just 11 forwards, leading to McTavish receiving just 14:17. He's still listed as the second-line center and has eight points in his last 10 outings, but he's been under the 15-minute mark in six of those contests. Overall, the 22-year-old is at six goals, 19 points, 45 shots on net, 28 hits, 34 PIM and a plus-4 rating through 26 appearances. He's got talent and is in a good role, but fantasy managers may want to monitor his usage a bit longer to make sure he doesn't slip into the bottom six.

  • Ducks' Mason McTavish: Plays hero to cap two-point night

McTavish recorded two assists in Friday's 5-4 shootout win over the Kings.

After having a hand in a pair of third-period tallies by Pavel Mintyukov and Leo Carlsson that tied the game at 4-4, McTavish ended the shootout with some nifty stickwork before slipping the puck through Darcy Kuemper's five-hole. McTavish has gotten onto the scoresheet in four of the last five games, and on the season, the 22-year-old center has produced five goals and 17 points in 24 contests.

He's added 32 PIM, 39 shots on net, 25 hits and a plus-1 rating. McTavish's playing style is well-suited to top-six minutes, where he can use his compete level to win battles all over the ice, and it's paying off this year as the Ducks' team offense has taken a step forward.

  • Ducks' Mason McTavish: Buries goal in loss

McTavish scored a goal on four shots, added two PIM and logged two hits in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Senators.

McTavish has a goal and two helpers over his last two games after snapping a four-game funk. The 22-year-old center is up to four goals, 14 points, 33 shots on net, 30 PIM, 23 hits and a plus-1 rating over 21 appearances this season. He's in line for a slight uptick in offense compared to last year's 22-goal, 52-point effort in 76 contests, but the potential for 100-plus PIM without being a true enforcer makes McTavish more intriguing in leagues that reward the rough stuff.

  • Ducks' Mason McTavish: Pots game-winner Friday

McTavish scored a goal on two shots in Friday's 5-2 win over the Red Wings.

McTavish's tally at 6:35 of the second period stood as the game-winner. The center had been limited to two assists over his previous four outings. He's produced two goals, six helpers, 19 shots on net, 16 hits, 10 PIM and a minus-2 rating through 10 contests this season. McTavish is firmly in a top-six role with a spot on the first power-play unit, so he should be able to sustain a strong performance on offense.

  • Ducks' Mason McTavish: Scores in loss to Chicago

McTavish scored a power-play goal in Sunday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Blackhawks.

McTavish's goal came through at a time where the Ducks desperately needed it -- his wrister at the 19:24 mark of the third period allowed Anaheim to extend the game to overtime. This was McTavish's first goal of the campaign after unleashing 12 shots, but he should continue to find opportunities to produce as a top-six forward and power-play unit threat. He's also added four assists and 10 hits.

  • Ducks' Mason McTavish: Distributes three helpers

McTavish logged three assists, four shots on goal, two hits and two PIM in Saturday's 7-6 overtime win over the Sharks.

Missing part of camp while awaiting a new contract hasn't slowed down McTavish, and he hasn't been complacent either, even with a six-year deal in hand. He's earned four assists, six shots on net and five hits over two games to begin 2025-26. McTavish is centering the second line and has clicked well alongside Cutter Gauthier and Beckett Sennecke. At 22 years old, McTavish is the old man of that trio. He earned a career-high 52 points in 76 outings in 2024-25, but he could take his offense to a new level if the Ducks take a collective step forward in their rebuild this year.

McTavish signed a six-year, $42 million contract with Anaheim on Saturday, per Pierre LeBrun of TSN.

McTavish missed the beginning of training camp due to a contract dispute, but he should be back on the ice with his teammates soon. He accounted for 22 goals, 52 points, 180 shots on net and 70 hits across 76 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. McTavish will likely occupy a middle-six role this campaign while seeing plenty of power-play time.

  • Ducks' Mason McTavish: Absent from camp

McTavish remains mired in a contract dispute with the Ducks and wasn't on the ice Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

McTavish is reportedly working out with OHL Ottawa while he awaits a new contract. A restricted free agent, the 22-year-old center has reached the 40-point threshold in each of his first three full NHL campaigns, including last year when he set personal bests in goals (22) and assists (30). At this point, it seems unlikely McTavish will be signed in time to play in either of the Ducks' first two preseason contests versus the Kings and Mammoth on Sunday and Monday, respectively.
